When handling SKU and shipment information, you might need to ship items in their own packaging.

If these are part of a larger order (rather than the only SKU), you can automate techSHIP to remove this item from the original packaging coming from the WMS, and set it apart, as a separate package/box.

NOTE: This feature is available for techShip Plus (as a paid add-on) and techShip MultiSite (included) setups only.

If this functionality is combined or part of a Cartonization setup, the way the Item is set up is crucial.

If Cartonization is applied to the order, and one or more of the items are set to ship in their own packaging, these items will be set apart and individually repack into boxes with their dimensions, and the rest of the SKUs included will be Cartonized normally.

SKUs can be individually checked to be considered for being shipped in their own packaging, being these the basic possible scenarios:

When Ship in own packaging is checked:

  • The SKU will be removed from any existing package
  • A new package will be created for it, matching its size
  • The number of packages will reflect with the quantity on the order line (if there are 3, 3 new packages will be automatically created)

The remaining SKUs not checked as Ship in own packaging will go through the normal cartonization process.

To set up items to ship on their own packaging, you will have to:
