When processing orders you might come across the "Hard 121210 - The selected service is not available from the origin to the destination" error.

This error is shown when the service level selected to process the order is not valid either because:

  • The service is not available for the destination region
  • It is impossible to physically deliver to the destination using the service (e.g. shipping Ground from California to Hawaii)
  • The chosen service is the incorrect one for the shipper's country (UPS services are named the same in most countries but some are different from an operation standpoint)

On this last point, for example, what UPS calls “UPS Express” in Canada, they call it “UPS Next Day Air” in the USA, or what what UPS calls “UPS Express Saver” in Canada, they call it “UPS Next Day Air Saver” in the USA.

If you think your case would be one of a service mismatch, please refer to the UPS Services cross reference table.
