Some carriers support configuring Custom Tracking Numbers, with specific prefixes as well as number and/or character length.
This article describes how to do so.
NOTE: There could be slight variations on the location of the fields depending on the carrier.
NOTE: This feature is limited to carriers supporting it, not every carrier is able to customize tracking numbers.
To do so, you will have to:
1. Access Maintenance and select Carriers
2. Click the Carrier for which you'll configure the Custom Tracking Number
3. Click the Accounts tab
4. Click the Edit button of the account you will configure
5. Select the Carrier tab
6. In Carrier Options set:
- Custom Tracking Prefix -> Define the prefix your tracking number will have (e.g. WPS02)
- Custom Tracking Length -> Indicate in numeric value, the amount of characters your tracking number will have (e.g. 18)
Being that the case, the tracking number would have a format such as WPS021234567890123, where WPS02 is fixed, and the remaining characters are variable.
7. Press Save to apply the changes
